Lifting of boats following lock works
Due to the extension of the lock works into April,
boats are being lifted by crane directly from the holding pontoon downstream of the lock to the opposite bank, to be transported to the port by road.
Saltwater barrier
Eaux et Vilaine, the operator of the Arzal lock, has decided to upgrade the lock by installing a saltwater barrier. The work will take place over the two winters of 2025–2026 and 2026–2027.
This new lock represents a major challenge for many reasons, particularly for sailers:
- Sustainable security of drinking water supply for approximately 1 million inhabitants.
- Continuity of lock service during periods of drought, and consequently a significant improvement in the quality of navigation for recreational boaters.
- Improved road traffic flow.

Our paint cabin could not accommodate boats over 45 feet,
so we have installed a watertight cocoon in our workshop,
and we are now able to carry out painting work on boats up to 50 feet.
Hull polishing
More and more Ovni owners want to remove the paint from the top
of the planking to create a completely unpainted hull.
We've carried out this type of work on a number of Ovnis recently.
The hull can of course be embellished with adhesives.
