30 Years of experience and 350 OVNIS in the hands of Arzal Nautique
On average 40 per year OVNIs are maintained, repaired or stored on our site.
We repair all the badly dented hulls following major damage.
Below is an example of repairs to an OVNI 43 in 2010. The first and second chines as well as the sole were severely damaged. A sheet of aluminium has been cut on a wide area and new aluminum sheets were welded.
Aluminium is a material which requires specialist knowledge and application.
We ensure the complete repairs of paint both above and below waterline.
1) For painting a deck:
· We dismount all the deck fittings and we mask the zones to be protected
· The deck and the upper hull planking are entirely sanded
· The boats enters our air conditioned cabin for painting
· The entire deck fitting is put back again carefully

2) For painting a hull:
Ovnis are delivered by Alubat with 3 lays of epoxy and 2 lays of antifouling.
Epoxy protects the hull from the antifouling (Some antifouling contain copper thiocyanate).
That’s why it is important to check the stability of the epoxy.
3) Touch up paint
We can also apply touch up paint on recent boats (Sheets of aluminum must not be oxidized.
